YouTube

Life has been crazy, it's been hard to keep up with everything! First of all, I finally corrected the grave injustice of not having My Human Interactions up for download, I don't know how that escaped me. Secondly, I uploaded all the videos Nate & I ripped onto YouTube. I also created an extensive playlist of everything that I could find related to Harvey Danger. If you have anything to add to that, be sure to e-mail or message me.

I don't have any new content other than that for the moment. I'm thinking of compiling some concert recordings and hopefully more photos. If you have any to add, please e-mail me.

NOTICE: Please do not e-mail me at sad-machine.com for now. This e-mail recieves 100+ junk mails a day and there is no way I will find your mail amongst all that mess. Please e-mail me instead at callmeishmaeldanger, at hotmail. You know what I mean. ;) Soon enough I'll work on a nice form for you all to write to me. Oh, and if you can't reach me by e-mail, message me at the HD boards. Anyway, that's enough.

Wow!

Sorry that updates have been so few and far between. I've been incredibly busy (school, having a baby, moving, more school, taking care of a baby...).

I haven't really been able to come up with new content for now, but I'll try and get back to work on that. I should get around to posting pictures from the tour (if anyone has any, please send them to me!). I'll take any suggestions you have! My sad-machine.com e-mail is out of order, send e-mails to chemicalflaw at the hot-diggity-mail. Yeah.

NEWS - 10.10.06

Hooray for updates!

Alright, so there's no real updates... yet. I have a few pictures I took at the Montreal show to add to the photos section, but that's about all for today. I'm now seriously starting to work on the "Merchandise" section (which doesn't even appear on the menu yet). If anyone has any unique or rare HD paraphernalia, please share! This includes shirts, posters, buttons, anything! If possible, please send an image, approximate date of production (even if it's just as broad as "kjv-era"), and how you got it! Was it sold at a show? Online? Ebay? Free? Did you make it? :) It's all interesting to me! This section would also appreciate autographed items! Remember those photos they autographed and mailed out with the little kjv-era store where you could buy the unreleased cd? Well, each of those are unique! Let's share them!

Also, of course, there's the issue of the new tour! Since the tour, I'm sure MANY of you out there have some deliciously fun pictures to share! Please, please do! :) With these, please include date/location of show and your name as you wish it to be credited! Any and all photos are welcome!

Any other items are always appreciated: wallpapers, winamp skins, avatars, ANYTHING AT ALL. Any ideas for new content? Would you like to help fill in missing content? Please contact me! :)

PS: I hope you all enjoyed the tour! I did! :)

Live Photos!

Photos from the last two shows have been POURING IN! So far I've uploaded everything I've got. Please feel free to keep me busy with more! When you send me photos, let me know how you want to be credited (name and optional link/e-mail). Thanks to everyone who's sent photos so far. :) (Oh, and let me know if my photo menus aren't working for people - like, if they're just a big pain in the bum.)

I'm going to (someday, I promise, soonish) work on a section of t-shirts and posters and such. If you've got anything to add to it, please feel free to send me photos. I've got everything from the old online store. I think what I'm really looking for right now is stuff predating that as well as show posters and maybe even autographs. I haven't quite decided yet. :P Definitely posters, though. Definitely.

In other news, I have no other news. I think I need to set up a news archive, yes? Perhaps. Or I could just delete the old news. *shrugs* That is all. Enjoy the photos!

Music Archive//Radio interviews

Okay, News! Jeff was interviewed on NPR on Sept. 27. Nathan has made us a handy copy of that interview (where you don't have to skip through the previous parts of the show). That will be in the downloads section. Also, on Friday HD was on KEXP. They played a few songs and it was great - that is also available in the downloads section.

I made a list of the mp3s I currently have (not including album-related tracks). This way, if you have something you don't think I have, you can check! And then send it to me! OR, if you're looking for something, check the list and e-mail (or IM) me to request it. I won't upload zipped files of all the mp3s, that's just ridiculous - but I will gladly get them to you through other means. You can request I host them on the site, or send them to you via e-mail or www.yousendit.com. E-mail or IM me to work out the details :P

I'm thinking of uploading streaming videos, though they'd be low quality.. but good for those without the ability to download the larger videos. Also, I put a silly LBL crossword puzzle in the games and contest section (I couldn't stand it being so empty). I'll be working on video screenshots for the 'photos' section (as well as photos from the old HD sites), and perhaps I might actually start on that merchandise section I'd been planning.

There will be a few other minor updates coming, but nothing big enough to brag about. Just a few changes in format and/or style, mostly. Enjoy!

Site Stats!

What's up, mah pretties?? :) I've been trying to get a few things sorted out for this site here, and hopefully I'll establish some better way to collect your imput (such as the a 'coment' feature for the news, or an easy form to submit comments without all the e-mail hassles). First off, I've been trying to get the site more, um, noticed. So far the only other site linking to us here is www.harveydanger.com (which is super awesomely sweet, so I really shouldn't complain). Mostly I'm concerned with search engines. It'd be nice if we'd turn up in searches for "Harvey Danger mp3s" or "Harvey Danger downloads" or most especially "Harvey Danger fansite" sort of searches.

Secondly, I want to fiddle around with a new skin for the Encyclopedia. Something more simple and... welcoming. And probably more LBL-orangey. (Like my livejournal.)

Thirdly, I want to set up download or link trackers for the videos and songs, so I can show everyone just how popular certain downloads are. It'd also be neat to find a neat rating system for such things as tabs and other sweet things to come.

Fourthly, I'd just like to express my happiness for Harvey Danger. This free-download plan is working far better than I could've imagined. So many people are donating and buying the album just to support the IDEA of free music. This is really exciting, and I'm looking forward to meeting and encouraging many new fans. (If any new fans are reading this, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.)

So now to the true topic of this news update, STATS! I'm real excited at how well this site is doing lately, so I thought I'd share some basic stats with you all! These stats are current as of about 5pm (EST), October 4.

Music Videos

Alright! Sweet! You guys are gonna be soooo happy! My dear Nathan has ripped the music videos for you! Not only that, but he's remastered the audio (except for Sad Sweetheart), so it sounds great! The picture COULD be better, but I suppose it's my fault for having watched the tape so many times... :P You can find the new videos in the Downloads section, right under the music.

Speaking of music, I've uploaded a few more songs. The "unreleased studio tracks" is pretty near complete as far as the 'Unreleased Stuff CDR" goes... I mean, there are a few tracks (like, alternate versions)... but you can have those later. You just need plain NEW stuff right now.

Okay, now here's where I call out for help. I'm working on a section where we can log or document older HD merchandise. I've got a few things from the old HD online store (post-kjv) and (of course) all the NEW HD merchandise (from the online store... nothing from shows or anything). What I really need is images and approximate dates of other t-shirts and posters or anything.

Finally, the new album is now available for download via bitorrent. On Tuesday it will be available for download right from the Harvey Danger Website. Go here to download!

Anyway, Enjoy the music videos!

Site News // Interactions

The new "Interactions" area is now up and running! For the time being there are a lot of annoying popups. This is because I'm currently using bravenet.com for these features. There are better alternatives, however I just haven't figured them out yet. But I will soon, then everything will be all right. I decided to run with the bravenet stuff because at least I know it's reliable, and I really need to see if these areas will get any use at all (otherwise it might not be worth the effort to replace with ad-free stuff). Anyway, everything should be (mostly) working right now, except the FanMap has a few issues.

Also, don't forget to check out the Encyclopedia (link now working). It seriously needs some input. :)

NEWS - 08.13.05

Welcome to the new and improved Hardly Dangerous!! Aren't you Excited?? Well, I am. I suppose I'll start by explaining some things.

The New Menu:

The old menu sucked. It was impossible to navigate (although it looked pretty cool). I think it's more important visitors find what they came for. The new menu is incredibly simple, though there may be some modifications to it in the future. (Also, take note of the blank spot - what could THAT be for?? ;) )

The Sidebar

This will be interesting. I had originally designed it as a space for fun banners and whatnot, but since my menu is smaller than I had expected, I have plenty of leftover space. Currently it's still being used for ad-like space. I'll probably link it with the Encyclopedia once that gets going.

Wider?

Yes, it's wider. I like that. I was getting frustrated having to cram stuff in such a small space (with so little room to expand).

Wallpaper Menu

Isn't it sweet? I (personally) love it. Just to explain, though. Scroll through thumbnails and click one to enlarge it. It will enlarge the FULL image (although it appears scaled down in the window). That is the image you want to right-click and save or set as your wallpaper. That's not too confusing, is it?

Fan Info

The individual pages aren't completely modified. I'm starting to have doubts on this whole fan listing anyway. It seems sort of a waste (of my efforts) since it's the same information provided at the HDBB for users. I seriously want to know what you people think. Send me e-mails or PMs or anything. I need justification.. or change. I think it needs something more interesting (and definitely more participation). Besides, it's possible that the new "Interactions" center will eliminate the need for all this contact info. ... Maybe.

Interactions

Okay okay, this isn't ready yet. It's really hard to set up an area like this without full-time access to internet resources. So this will be coming soon. "What is it?" you wonder... Well, I can't say. Try to imagine for yourselves. :)

Problems

This site looks TERRIBLE in Mozilla, I don't yet know why. I will be working on that. Also, my computer gives me a lot of those stupid "Information Bar" warnings 'cause of the JavaScript. If anyone else has this problem just click "allow content..." and I'm seriously working on a cure.

Whatever happened to...

  • Resolution options - working on it
  • Random Image options - got rid of it. You'll have to deal with the fact that ALL members are in the band, no picking favorites. :P (Sounds good, doesn't it? It's just an excuse for my laziness.)
  • Pictures section - Moved to the Encyclopedia/Pity and Fear
  • Links section - See Encyclopedia for links. Might return soon
  • Guestbook - working on it.
  • Crazy Warning Symbols - They may return (in the form of watermark-type-images).
  • Versions 2.39.. to 5.13.. ? - Um.. I didn't like 'em?

Well anyway, thank you for visiting the new Hardly Dangerous. If you actually read all of this, you seriously need to find something more interesting to do with your time.
Maybe I should start an FAQ section? That might be neat...

    Thank You.

  • NEW ALBUM

A newsletter has been sent out with exciting news about the new album! For those of you who haven't heard, here's a direct copy of the newsletter that cheerfully appeared in my inbox on August 4th. (Sign up for the mailing list at harveydanger.com)

Harvey Danger news: New album release and shows

    Hello and greetings!

There’s so much news to tell you about, that we’ll skip the formalities and get right to it. Where to start? How about:

New album to be released Sept. 13

We're pleased to announce the release of our third record, Little By Little..., will be officially released on Tuesday, September 13. Recorded in Seattle, produced by John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Blonde Redhead, Blood Brothers, HD) and Steve Fisk (Beat Happening, Low, Screaming Trees, Nirvana), Little By Little... is the band's first LP in five years -- five years and one day, to be exact.

The physical copy of the album will include a second bonus CD containing album B-sides, bonus tracks, and outtakes in a deluxe dual-CD package. It will be available for purchase in select stores, and we will soon be taking preorders through the soon-to-be-up online store.

We are also very excited to announce that Little By Little... will be made available several weeks later, on September 27, as a free download on the Internet. This is a big announcement for us, and we will give more details on this soon.

Lots of shows and appearances scheduled

The release of Little By Little... will be accompanied by a grip of shows and in-store performances in and around Seattle -- some are all-ages, some are not; some are free, some are not. They will all be fun, however.

Saturday Aug 6: Crocodile Café (Seattle, WA), w/Razrez, Ghost Story. 21+
Saturday, Sept 3: Easy Street Records Queen Anne (Seattle, WA), in-store appearance, time TBA
Saturday, Sept 3: Seattle Center Exhibition Hall (Seattle, WA), 7pm, as part of Bumbershoot
Saturday, Sept 17: Sonic Boom Records (Seattle, WA) in-store appearances, details TBA
Saturday, Sept 24: Fremont Oktoberfest (Seattle, WA), time/details TBA,
Saturday, Oct 15: Crocodile Café (Seattle, WA), all-ages CD release show.
Saturday, October 22: Vera Project, All-ages CD release show, with Holy Ghost Revival, Racetrack, and other special guests.

The schedule is subject to change, of course, but you can always get the most up-to-date information by visiting the new band website, at http://www.harveydanger.com/
